Terri Davis
I am the Executive Director of Huntington Learning Center in Palm Harbor, and have been with Huntington Learning Centers for 11 years- seven years in the D.C./Maryland area, as a regional director, and now in my fourth year here in Palm Harbor.
I have been involved in numerous volunteer organizations throughout the years. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Samaritan House, a half way house in Annapolis, Maryland, the Board of Directors of my homeowners associations in Maryland, the Education Committee for the Maryland Association of Realtors, and am presently on the SAC committee at Ozona Elementary, the steering committee for Parent University, based out of Countryside High School the Education Committee for the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the Education Committee for Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Directors for Waterford Crossing Homeowners Association and Committee Member of Pinellas County PEP Grant at Palm Harbor Montessori Academy.
Huntington's mission statement is "to give every student the best education possible". I am committed to doing just that-I know that our children are our future and believe in guiding, developing, nuturing and educating them to be the best that they can be!
Susan Latvala
Susan Latvala was elected to the Board of County Commissioners for Pinellas County in 2000 and is currently Chairman. She previously served two (2) terms as a Member of the Pinellas County School Board being first elected in 1992 and re-elected in 1996.
Commissioner Latvala will represent the Board of County Commissioners as a member of Tampa Bay Water, the Circuit Conflict Committee, the Pinellas County Arts Council, the School Transportation Safety Committee and the Public Safety Coordinating Council. She was appointed to the statewide Substance Abuse and Mental Health Corporation and has assumed the Chairmanship of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Leadership Group in Pinellas County and was selected as a Vice State Director for the Florida Partners in Crisis Statewide Steering Committee. She serves as the 2nd Vice President for the Florida Association of Counties and was named as the Chairman of the Statewide Water Policy Working Group having been appointed to the committee representing the Florida Association of Counties. Commissioner Latvala also serves as a member of the Florida Chamber Water Task Force, the Elections Canvassing Board, the Pinellas County Economic Development Council and is Chair of the Tourist Development Council.
She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the PACE Center for Girls, Inc. She formerly was appointed to the White House Conference on Youth, Drug Use and Violence, the Board of Directors of the National Conference on Community and Justice, the Florida Charter School Review Panel, Operation PAR and the Suncoast Family YMCA. Commissioner Latvala received the PACE Special Recognition Award from PEMHS (Personal Enrichment through Mental Health Services) in September of 2002 and the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2000 presented by the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association
Commissioner Latvala is a twenty-three year resident of Pinellas County and has been actively involved in the business community having been a real estate broker, owner of a property management company and later as a participant in a family business. She attended Western Kentucky University and Spencerian Business College.
Bob Symanski
Mr. Symanski is a certified public accountant and runs a successful accounting firm, Symanski and McKnight, in Clearwater, FL. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Old Harbor Bank.
Syd Entel
The owner of Syd Entel Galleries in both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. She is very active in the fine arts community of northern Pinellas County. She has done a great deal to promote the arts in Dunedin and the surrounding community. Her Pinellas County Gallery is in Safety Harbor.
Kyra Jorgensen
Kyra is President of PTA this year after holding the VP position last year. She has 3 daughters and has been an ADV parent for 6 years being very active in PTA since she joined the ADV community. She knows the school from the view of a parent and from an administrative position. She has a background in organization and consulting and has worked extensively within the health care industry.
Todd Still
Mr. Still joined the Board of Directors in the Spring of 2007. He is the Youth Director for the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. As the Education Youth Director he operates and administers the youth education programs of the DFAC within the framework of policies, plans, and budget approved by the Executive Director. The Youth Education Director develops goals, programs, plans, reports, policies, recommendations and budgets to maintain an effective education program. The Youth Education Director initiates, plans and produces the DLM Children’s Hands On Art Museum.
Mr. Still holds a B.A. in Art Education from USF and has five years of experience teaching art at elementary and middle school levels. He continued in the arts when hired with DFAC as Youth Education Director. For the last ten years, he has designed, planned, implemented youth classes, exhibits, summer camps, art festivals, and hands-on exhibits. In addition to designing and planning the hands-on exhibits, he also fabricates the structures and environments. Mr. Still takes an active part in the State and local grant processes.
